Hola! Estas listo? I'm Jose, your native Spanish tutor and I'm more than ready for you. I have two years of experience at teaching elementary students, who came no only from here but South-America, Europe and Asia,but more recently have started to teach students of all ages, including adults. I have also been performing translation services that included the translation of complex and lengthy forms into Spanish. Grammar and literature are essential parts of any language so we will definitely take them seriously. But because you can only own what you do use (practice), the major emphasis in my classes will be given to conversation. For this reason, I plan my classes to be as dynamic and spontaneous as possible, through dramatizations, songs, body language, we will integrate the use of new vocabulary with expressions typically spoken in Spanish speaking countries. And because one tends to remember easier what is odd and funny, the idea is not to simply learn the language, but to have fun as we learn through the various activities and discover that this wonderful Spanish has 'flavor', and when properly spoken, leaves a very sweet taste in our tongues. I can teach to students at any level, from the very basic to the well-advanced. I will go the extra-mile with you to help you all the way. I have, myself, had the experience of having to learn English here in America, so I have personal experience of the challenge that is to learn a new language. Hobbies
There's no better person to teach somebody a new language than a native speaker that learned himself a language in a foreign country. My case. I'm Jose, a Colombian native that had lived in Chile and temporary worked in Peru and Ecuador as well as visited other countries in South America; experiences that made me well-acquainted with the different ways Spanish is spoken across the continent. As you can see the top of my favorite hobbies is to travel, In my opinion the Culture is an important Issue to take into account when you are learning a new language. Since different students will have different backgrounds, knowledge and needs, I will customize my classes as appropriate. As a general rule though, my goal is communication. Grammar, rules of verb use, literature reading and vocabulary will be studied as required by the knowledge level of the student, and integrated with its practical use through writing assignments but more importantly in lots of conversation. Finally, through these various activities I will familiarize the student with some of our distinct features of our Hispanic culture (music, food, customs and dance) with the flavor and humor( I don't want to be so pretentious, but I consider Myself as a person of great sense of humor) that have been long been recognized as the signatures of its culture.
