Experience
I have extensive experience in the tutoring field. I worked in the Learning Commons at Tallahassee Community College as a Communication Skills Specialist for five years. During my time there, I tutored students in writing, grammar, and study skills. I have worked with a wide variety of students including those in developmental English, freshman composition, and ESL/EAP courses. I am also a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor trainer, and I developed and conducted training sessions for the tutors working with me in the Learning Commons. In addition, I taught developmental writing to non-native English speakers as an adjunct instructor. My greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to break down material in a way that students can understand it. I talk to students about their academic goals and work with them to determine the best course of action for achieving them. I am very passionate about what I do. Tutoring for me is not just a part-time gig; it is my profession. If you select me as your tutor, know that you are working with someone who truly wants you to succeed.
