Hi, I'm Giovanni! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. During my time at Florida State University, I was on the pre-medical track and had to combine the pre-medical prerequisite course work with the classes required by my major. Thus, my course work was heavily STEM based and I have a great appreciation for these subjects. Ultimately, I grew very fond of the teaching assistants for the classes I was in. The teaching assistants were always engaging and were able to use a teaching style that best fit everyone's need. They always made sure that each student understood each part of the process and was comfortable with the subject. This is an approach I use for my own tutoring sessions. My ultimate goal is for students to become an independent learner and to provide an enjoyable learning experience that leads to an increased understanding of the subject. I explain the topics using the scaffolding technique which is starting with the basics and then building upon that. I provide an outline of goals for each session and towards the end of the session I provide time for students to practice the material on their own. As always, the teaching method can be changed to best suit the needs of the student as well as the subject itself.
Experience
I have one year of tutoring experience with high school students. I volunteered in an after-school program at a high school in which I helped students on the various subjects they were learning such as AP Physics and Spanish. The after-school program consisted of roughly 15-20 students. I would tutor each student on a one-to-one basis for about an hour. The students I tutored varied each week thus I worked with students who each had their own learning style. Additionally, I tutored high school students for the ACT & SAT. I work with students one-to-one to help prepare them for taking the exam. I spend about an hour to two hours going through each subject that the test covers. We use the SAT & ACT prep books as our guide and we review practice test material as well as example problems within the book.

I'm an avid sports guy that loves watching Football. I enjoy staying fit and going to the gym. I like to cook different foods from different cultures. I also love to fish whenever time allows.
