I earned my bachelor's degree in Mathematics and German in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating, I spent the next three years as a volunteer for a religious organization, where I moved around the country teaching the Bible. My experience ranges from teaching almost all levels of German and Math, as well as Astronomy, Public Speaking, Debate, Guitar, Portuguese, Physics, Martial Arts, Juggling, and the Bible. The subject I enjoy teaching most is definitely Calculus. In my tutoring experience, I have often heard students say that the reason they struggle in Math is because it is not visual enough. I feel that I have a natural aptitude for "seeing" Math, especially Calculus, which I find very fun. My tutoring method involves helping students to "see" the problem and work it out, instead of giving them the answers. I like my students to figure out the how and why of the solution. When a problem clicks like that, it suddenly becomes extremely fun. If I am not tutoring or working, I enjoy playing basketball, practicing the guitar, ukulele, and harmonica, playing video games, and reading the Bible.
