I am a freshman Music Performance major at FSU, and I currently have a 3.86 GPA.
Experience
I want to be a tutor to help pay my way through college, and at the same time reinforce my skills by helping others. It's always very easy for me to relate to almost anybody so tutoring has been a good fit for me. English is by far my foremost academic strength. I graduated from high school in the top 10% of my class of about 600 students. By the time I graduated, I had completed AP English 2 with a 98% and earned a 4 on the AP Exam (with writing). Furthermore, FSU awarded me a 300 dollar grant for my application essay. I have experience as a paid proofreader for high school English teachers as well as researchers. My musical training is extensive. I have played piano since I was four, and at age 13 I auditioned into the Cleveland Institute of Music's piano preparatory program. I have performed with professional ensembles such as the Tennessee Brass and Science Hill Wind Ensemble in Carnegie Hall twice. Also, I was able to exempt out of all my piano classes here at FSU. As far as bassoon is concerned: I auditioned into the Tennessee all-state band my sophomore and junior year in high school, went on to participate in the Tennessee Governors School for the Arts in 2007, participate in the 2008 Eastern Music Festival, and currently I study Bassoon Performance here at FSU. I have taught both piano and bassoon throughout my high school career.
