Brian D.
Private tutor in Tallahassee, FL
Education
I earned my PhD from American University in May 2015. I studied modern U.S. history with a concentration in U.S. foreign relations. In 2006, I earned my MA in European History from University College London. I graduated from Florida State University in 2004 with a BA in History and a minor in International Affairs.
Experience
Since 2012, I have taught several sections of U.S. history at Tallahassee Community College. I also have prior experience tutoring a high school student in African-American history. I can help both high school and college students with their reading comprehension, writing, or proofreading. I will also try and make history seem relevant and interesting as well. Overall, I'm very passionate about history and teaching. I enjoy interacting with students and providing them with the help they need. I can assist with a broad range of classes including AP U.S. or World History; Western Civilization; Civics; Political Science; or U.S. government.

Hobbies
Most of my free time is spent hanging out with my wife and two kids. If I'm not spending time with my family, I'm most likely one of two places (depending on weather and season): fishing near Alligator Point or hunting in Whigham, GA. I'm also an avid reader as well. Unfortunately, I can't seem to make a dent in my growing list of "books to read."
